Mikata Buffet is one of those places that surprises you—in both good and not-so-good ways.

The standout is the sheer variety. There’s a huge selection of Asian dishes: noodles, fried rice, fish, shrimp, crab, crawfish, sushi, and a range of meats, plus four different types of soups. On top of that, they cater to broader tastes with North American staples like pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets. The hibachi station is a big plus—you pick your own meats, veggies, and noodles, and they cook it fresh right in front of you. Add in a solid spread of desserts and a full salad bar and… wow. You definitely won’t run out of options.

That said, the space itself feels very dated. The décor hasn’t been refreshed in decades (complete with old, bulky TVs that look straight out of the early ’90s), and the washrooms could use a serious upgrade—they’re not the cleanest.

Still, at around $18 per person, the value is hard to beat. You get a ton of food, plenty of variety, and you will absolutely leave full.

Overall: great value, massive selection, and worth it if you prioritize food over ambiance. Highly recommend ????

We love this place, the food is wholesome and good, not too salty and a good value
for the money. They have something for everybody and the ice cream is wonderful.
